Court Dismisses Ex-Army General's N1.4bn Lawsuit Against Ibom Airline

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a N1.4 billion lawsuit filed by former Army General Fidelis Azinta against Ibom Airline for alleged malicious conduct. The court ruled that the suit lacked merit and substance.

General Azinta had accused the airline of wrongful arrest, breach of contract, and other grounds, claiming damages for various alleged misconduct. The judge deemed the claims unsubstantiated and lacking evidence.

The lawsuit, which was instituted in 2023, centered on allegations of mistreatment and embarrassment suffered by the General at the hands of the airline. The court's decision signifies a legal resolution to the dispute between General Azinta and Ibom Airline.
