Court to Rule on Malami's 57 Properties on July 10, 2026

The Federal High Court in Abuja has set a new date of July 10, 2026, to deliver its judgment regarding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) application for the final forfeiture of 57 properties associated with former Attorney General Abubakar Malami. The EFCC had previously secured an interim forfeiture order for the assets, valued at N212 billion, located in Abuja, Kano, Kebbi, and Kaduna.

The properties are alleged to have been acquired through corrupt practices during Malami's tenure as Attorney General under former President Muhammadu Buhari. Malami's legal team, led by counsel Adedayo Adedeji, is contesting the EFCC's claims, asserting that the assets were legitimately acquired.

The court had initially scheduled the judgment for July 6, 2026, but it was moved to July 10, 2026, after both parties presented their final arguments on May 26.
