Ex-AGF Malami Opts to Stay in Prison Over Fear of Rearrest by DSS

Former Nigerian AGF Malami, despite meeting bail conditions set by the court, opted to remain in custody at Kuje Correctional Center over fears of immediate rearrest by the DSS. Justice Emeka Nwite granted bail to Malami's wife and son.

Malami instructed his legal team to seek a court order to prevent his re-arrest upon release, but no protective order was granted. He believes staying in custody is safer to avoid fresh detention.

Bail conditions included a bail sum of 500 million and strict requirements for sureties.
