Court Grants Yahaya Bello Permission to Travel for Lesser Hajj

The Federal High Court in Abuja granted former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello permission to travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for the Lesser Hajj. The court approved his request to temporarily release his international passport to enable him to perform the religious pilgrimage from March 13 to March 22.

The motion was granted by Justice Emeka Nwite following a request filed by Bello's counsel, Joseph Daudu SAN. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) did not object to the application.

Bello faces prosecution by the EFCC over alleged financial mismanagement during his tenure as governor of Kogi State. The court adjourned the case until January 30 to continue the trial.
