Court to Hear Gomb's Suit Against Mark-led ADC on May 8

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled a hearing for May 8, 2025, regarding a suit filed by Nafiu Gomb against former Senate President David Mark and other leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The case arises from ongoing leadership crises within the party.

Gomb's legal counsel, Luka Haruna, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has requested an accelerated hearing of the case, following the dismissal of an interlocutory appeal by the Supreme Court on April 30, 2026. Justice Emeka Nwite, who presided over a previous session, had adjourned the case indefinitely on April 14.

Gomb, who is the former National Deputy Chairman of ADC, seeks a court order to restrain Mark and others from presenting themselves as leaders of the party. The defendants include Rauf Aregbesola and Ralph Nwosu, among others, who are accused of violating provisions of the ADC constitution and the Electoral Act.
