Court Jails Ex-Legislative Aide, Banker for ₦120.5m Job Scam

A former legislative aide and banker, Goni Yilkan, has been sentenced to eight years in prison by the FCT High Court in Abuja for his role in a ₦120.5 million job scam. Yilkan, from Yobe State, was convicted of obtaining money under false pretenses in a scam involving key government agencies like FIRS, CBN, and NDDC.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed that Yilkan deceived job seekers between 2020 and 2021, promising employment slots that never materialized. The court found Yilkan guilty based on evidence presented by the EFCC, leading to his conviction and sentencing.
