Court Rules Against Getafe Over Uche Loan Clause Issues

A Madrid commercial court ruled in favor of La Liga, reversing previous interim measures that had temporarily allowed Getafe CF to operate flexibly during the winter transfer window. The court upheld an appeal from La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which had expressed concerns about Getafe's financial position.

The ruling impacts a €20 million income clause related to Christantu Uche's loan from Crystal Palace, which depended on Uche starting ten matches—a condition that has not been fulfilled. As a result, Getafe's financial control committee confirmed that the club cannot rely on unrealized income to justify spending within regulatory frameworks.

Despite the setback, Getafe has registered five players during the winter window, but the decision places tighter financial restrictions on the club, reducing their salary cap and potentially limiting future transfer activities.
