Getafe Welcomes Potential Return of Uche from Palace

Getafe's president, Angel Torr, confirmed the club is ready to welcome back Nigerian midfielder Christantu Uche following an unproductive loan spell at Crystal Palace. Uche joined the Premier League side in September 2025 on a season-long deal that included a £20 million obligation to trigger upon starting ten league matches.

However, Uche has yet to make a league start under manager Olivier Glasner, leading to the unfulfilled purchase clause. Torr emphasized Uche's value to the squad, as he has three years remaining on his contract.

The club is keen to retain Uche while also addressing the wider squad situation, including the potential permanent transfer of Mario Martín, which will depend on player sales. Torr noted that Uche's return could enhance the midfield with his technical ability and physical presence, especially after recording four goals and seven assists during his time at Crystal Palace.
