Critical Minerals: African Ministers To Hold Second Conference In New York

African Ministers will convene for the Second Roundtable on Critical Minerals Development in New York on September 22, 2025, during the 80th United Nations General Assembly. Hosted by the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG), the event aims to forge a common African voice and advance global partnerships in the critical mineral value chain.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will chair the roundtable, emphasizing Africa's vast mineral wealth potential and the need for responsible and transparent global engagement. The event will bring together African heads of state, ministers, multilateral institutions, and private sector leaders to discuss the continent's strategic role in the global mineral economy.

The AMSG, established in January 2024, focuses on critical mineral development to ensure African ownership and leadership in the global mineral economy.
