Crystal Palace Excludes Christantus Uche from UEFA Squad

Crystal Palace has officially dropped midfielder Christantus Uche from their UEFA Conference League squad. This decision follows the arrivals of Brennan Johnson, Jorgen Strand Larsen, and Evann Guessand during the January transfer window, necessitating a reshuffle to secure progress in the competition.

The club had to submit an updated list of players in compliance with UEFA's registration regulations, which limited them to naming just 24 players. Uche, a 22-year-old Nigerian, has struggled for consistent playing time, making only 12 substitute appearances totaling 155 minutes in the Premier League, and 174 minutes across four Conference League matches.

He joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan from Getafe CF last summer. His loan agreement includes an obligation to buy if he plays ten matches this season, a benchmark that now seems distant.

Uche's omission compounds an already stop-start campaign, raising doubts about his future at the club beyond the summer.
