Crystal Palace Re-signs Evann Guessand on Loan from Villa

Crystal Palace has re-signed 25-year-old Ivory Coast forward Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa. Guessand previously spent the second half of last season at Selhurst Park, where he was part of the team that won the Conference League in May.

He joined Aston Villa in August last year but had a challenging start to the season, scoring two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. He managed to score his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers and participated in the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano.

Guessand also earned a Europa League winner’s medal after appearing for Villa earlier in the season. The loan agreement includes a “conditional obligation to buy” from Aston Villa, while Crystal Palace describes it as an “option to buy.” Guessand made two substitute appearances for the Ivory Coast during the summer's World Cup and returned to Villa for pre-season after Palace did not exercise an option to sign him earlier in the summer.
