Cubana Chief Priest Loses APC Primary in Imo State

Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat representing the Orsu, Orlu, and Oru East federal constituency. This primary was held as part of the preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Okechukwu's candidacy was formally declared in April 2026, and he purchased the APC nomination form in pursuit of the party's ticket. He faced defeat against the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Moor Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in office.

Despite his loss, Okechukwu has been vocal in his support for the APC administration and has been involved in partisan activities, including supporting the re-election campaign of President Bola Tinubu. Reports indicate that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma did not endorse Okechukwu's candidacy but encouraged participation in the electoral process.
