Cubana Chief Priest Denies Participation in APC Primaries

Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Sunday Okechukwu, publicly stated he did not participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections for the Imo State gubernatorial race. He made this announcement via an Instagram post, dismissing reports that he took part in the primaries where he allegedly scored 14 votes.

Okechukwu explained that he had initially shown interest in the race but withdrew once the APC leadership made it clear that the federal constituency seat for the Orlu Local Government Area had not yet been allocated to his local government. He emphasized his loyalty to the APC and his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okechukwu described claims of his participation as false and politically motivated, asserting that he did not attend the primary venue and returned directly to Lagos after the event.
