Taraba Local Government Enforces Curfew Amid Unrest

Mohammed J. Umar, the chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council in Taraba State, has declared a 24-hour curfew in Mbamnga, Mbara, and Geroji communities following an outbreak of communal unrest.

The curfew takes immediate effect and is intended to restore calm and prevent further escalation of the situation. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Marvelous Heli, Umar assured residents that the unrest was under control and that security operatives had been deployed to maintain law and order.

He directed all security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew and authorized them to arrest anyone violating the directive. Umar also appealed to traditional and community leaders to support the curfew by encouraging residents to embrace peace and comply with the directive.

Residents are advised to remain indoors during the curfew and report any suspicious activities to security operatives, with a warning that those disturbing the peace will face legal consequences.
