Nigeria Customs and Manufacturers Seek Fresh Start Amid Trade Disputes

The Nigeria Customs Service and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria are working towards repairing strained relations after the suspension of a contentious import charge. Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of Customs, emphasized the need for a fresh start to move beyond immediate disputes and foster mutual understanding.

Segun Ajayi Kadiri highlighted the importance of dialogue and partnership to address trade challenges and ensure policies reflect the reality faced by manufacturers. The parties are preparing for a major conference in November to discuss trade issues further.
