Customs CG Advocates for Improved Sports Infrastructure

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of Customs, addressed the need for enhanced sporting infrastructure within Customs formations at the closing ceremony of the Zone A Inter-Command Games held at the NCS Training College in Ikeja. He noted the Service's significant contributions to sports development in Nigeria and mentioned that Customs teams excel in various sports, including volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and athletics.

Adeniyi announced plans for a new Customs Training College in Ogun State, which will include suitable sporting facilities, and suggested temporary facilities at the current college for recruits. He praised the Zone A leadership and the organizing committee for their efforts in staging the games, which reflected his administration's pillars of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.

He urged officers to embody the values of discipline, teamwork, and strategy learned from the competition in their daily duties. Additionally, he called for the revival and expansion of inter-zonal competitions, recalling past events organized by Customs.
