Nigeria Customs Reopens Kamba and Tsamiya Borders for Cross-Border Trade After Security Talks

The Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of Customs Area Comptroller of Kebbi State, Mahmud Matawal Ibrahim, has reopened the Kamba and Tsamiya borders in Dandi and Bagudo Local Government Areas to enhance cross-border trade with the Republic of Benin and Niger. The decision, approved by the presidency, aims to promote legitimate trade activities and strengthen cooperation between Nigeria and Benin.

The reopening, effective from February 9, follows security talks and diplomatic engagements to ensure safe and seamless trade operations. The move has already facilitated the clearance of several trucks stranded due to the earlier closure.

The Customs Service emphasizes the importance of security in border communities while committing to upholding agreements to guarantee secure trade operations.
