Nigeria Customs Service Reopens Kebbi Border to Boost Trade and Security

The Nigeria Customs Service has reopened the Tsamiya border corridor in Kebbi State to boost trade following approval from the federal government. The decision was announced by Abdullahi Maiwada during a stakeholder engagement at the Government House in Kebbi State.

The initiative involves collaboration with security agencies, traditional leaders, and international customs representatives to ensure seamless trade operations along the critical land and river routes. Adewale Adeniyi emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation to address evolving security challenges and enhance cross-border trade.

The Tsamiya corridor will operate with enhanced monitoring technologies to prevent unauthorized trade activities. Kebbi State Governor Nasiru Idris pledged support for customs and security agencies to create a conducive environment for sustainable border trade development.
