Nigeria Customs Service Wins Opener at CAVB Championship

The Nigeria Customs Service volleyball team commenced their campaign at the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo with a challenging 3-1 victory over a Ugandan team from Kampala. After losing the first set 24-26, the Nigerian side regained control to win the next three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 24-19, marking a successful opening match in Pool C.

In contrast, Vipers, a partner team, faced a setback, suffering a 3-1 defeat against a Cameroonian team. Despite a brief resurgence in the third set, where they fought back to win 25-22, Vipers lost the first set 25-6, the third set 25-19, and the final set 25-13.

The championship, held in Cairo, brings together top women’s clubs across Africa, with defending champions Al Ahli among the leading contenders in the competition.
