Nigeria Customs Warns Traders on Single Window Compliance

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, issued a warning to traders to avoid circumventing the Single Window Platform (NSW) as it is set to go live on Friday. During an event in Lagos on Tuesday, Adeniyi highlighted that the NSW will facilitate cargo release within 48 hours, thereby maintaining traders' rights.

He stressed the importance of using the correct documentation within the system, advising traders not to attempt to bypass the platform. Oluyomi Adebakin, the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Information Communication Technology, reiterated the significance of the NSW in unifying operations among stakeholders.

Adeniyi emphasized that the successful deployment of the NSW is crucial for its effectiveness and urged traders to engage with the system properly to achieve desired results.
