Court to Rule on Sowore's No-Case Submission May 8, 2026

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Moham Garba Umar, has set May 8, 2026, to rule on Omoyele Sowore's no-case submission concerning charges of cyberbullying against President Bola Tinubu. The Department of State Services (DSS) has charged Sowore, a presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), with two counts of cyberstalking.

The charges stem from allegations that he posted false messages on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, claiming that Tinubu was involved in corrupt activities. Sowore's counsel, Marshal Abubakar, contended that the prosecution failed to link Sowore to the alleged offenses and requested the court to dismiss the charges.

The prosecution, represented by Akinlolu Kehind, argued against the no-case submission, asserting that they had established a prima facie case. The court will decide on the matter on the fixed date.
