Daga Scores on Return to Molde After Legal Acquittal

Daniel Daga scored a goal for Molde FK in their 4-2 away victory against KFUM Oslo on Sunday, marking his return to the starting line-up. This match was significant as it was his second appearance since being cleared on appeal in a rape case.

Daga equalized for Molde in the 40th minute after they had fallen behind early in the match. The 19-year-old midfielder had been acquitted by Norway’s Frostating Court of Appeal earlier in October 2023, which overturned his March 2026 conviction for committing a sexual act without consent.

Following his conviction, Molde FK had suspended him indefinitely from first-team selection. The club reinstated him after the appeal verdict, stating they recognized the serious nature of the case and considered the employment situation clarified.

Daga's lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings. He has made 14 appearances for Molde since joining ahead of the 2025 season, scoring three goals.
