PDP Candidate Ibraheem Adekunle Challenges Fadeyi's Claim

Ibraheem Adekunle, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, has declared himself the authentic candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections. This statement comes in response to Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi's announcement of his return to the PDP and his claim of being the party’s candidate.

Fadeyi had previously defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July 2027 and participated in the APC primary election, which was won by Kunle Adegoke. Adekunle insists that he was duly nominated through the PDP's primary process and has warned against any attempts to replace him.

He raised questions about Fadeyi's alleged waiver from the PDP, noting that Fadeyi's participation in the APC primary contradicts his claimed membership in the PDP. Adekunle stated that he would seek judicial intervention if necessary to defend his nomination, emphasizing his confidence in the PDP leadership under Chief Nyesom Wike.
