Dan Orbih's Remains Arrive in Benin, Tributes Paid

The remains of Chief Dan Orbih, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), arrived at Benin Airport on Friday. Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, alongside Secretary to the State Government Mr Umar Ikhilor, received the remains at approximately 9:55 a.m.

They led family, friends, political associates, and government officials to Orbih’s residence for a lying-in-state ceremony. Governor Okpebholo expressed that Orbih's death was a profound loss, referring to him as more than a political associate, but as a brother.

Rev. Fr Palmer Ikponmwosa described Orbih as a significant figure in Edo politics, while PDP chieftain Mr Pascal Ugbome praised his constructive approach to opposition politics. Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) remembered Orbih as a generous man who positively impacted many lives.

Dignitaries present included Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa and other notable political figures.
