Edo Leaders Mourn Chief Dan Orbih's Passing at 64

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo expressed condolences to the family of Chief Dan Orbih, who passed away at the age of 64 on Tuesday. Orbih was a former Edo State Chairman and former National Vice Chairman, South-South, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Okpebholo described Orbih’s death as a significant loss to his family, Edo, and the university community, highlighting his commitment as the AAU Governing Council chairman. Former Governor Godwin Obaseki also mourned Orbih, stating that his death represents a significant loss to Edo.

Obaseki acknowledged Orbih as a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, particularly during his tenure as the longest-serving chairman of the PDP in Edo State from 2009 until March 13, 2020. Orbih was instrumental in strengthening the PDP as a viable opposition party and played a key role in the 2020 governorship election, leading the campaign that resulted in Obaseki's victory over the APC candidate.
