Dangote Group Denies False Claims on Refinery Financing

The Dangote Group, led by President Aliko Dangote, has issued a statement refuting false claims about its financing for the refinery project and a purported conflict with business leader Tony Elumelu. The group’s Chief Brand Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, described the allegations as entirely baseless and a misrepresentation of the company's position.

The statement clarified that neither Aliko Dangote nor the group financed the project through personal loans or engaged in any lending arrangements. Furthermore, the Dangote Group emphasized that there is no rift between Dangote and Elumelu, highlighting their long-standing cordial relationship.

The company expressed concern over a growing trend of fabricating statements that misuse its name, warning that such actions pose a reputational risk and may constitute fraud. The Dangote Group affirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity while continuing to drive industrialization and economic self-sufficiency across Africa.
