Nigerian billionaire Abdulsamad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, experienced a significant loss of over $500 million in one day, leading to a drop in his ranking on the global wealth ladder. According to Forbes data, Rabiu's net worth declined by 7%, pushing him down to 559th place from his previous 522nd position.

In contrast, Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, saw his net worth rise by $34 million to $17.8 billion, ranking him 86th globally. Other billionaires like Mike Adenuga and Femi Otedola also recorded declines.
