Dangote and Rabiu Rank Among Africa's Richest Billionaires

Aliko Dangote, founder and president of Dangote Group, has maintained his status as Africa's richest man, with a net worth of $34.9 billion according to Bloomberg's latest rankings. Abdulsamad Rabiu, founder and chairman of BUA Group, has climbed to become Africa's third richest billionaire, with an estimated fortune of $18.5 billion.

Johann Rupert, a South African luxury goods magnate, ranks as the second richest person in Africa with a net worth of $18.9 billion. In the global wealth index, Dangote is positioned 67th, Rupert 144th, and Rabiu 152nd.

Dangote's wealth reportedly increased by $4.38 billion over the year, driven by his dominance in several industrial sectors, including cement, sugar, flour, and petroleum refining. Rabiu's wealth has seen a significant rise, increasing from $15.9 billion to $18.5 billion within a month, reflecting rapid growth in the cement and food manufacturing sectors under BUA Group.

Notably, no Nigerian billionaire is featured among the world's top 500 richest individuals.
