Dangote Refinery Expands to 1.4m Barrels per Day, Becoming World's Largest

Dangote Refinery, led by Aliko Dangote, is expanding in Lagos, Nigeria, to reach a capacity of 1.4 million barrels per day, making it the largest refinery globally. This move signifies a strong belief in Nigeria's future and Africa's potential, with a commitment to energy independence.

The expansion project will require an additional 65,000 workers during construction. Dangote also plans to list the refinery on the Nigerian Stock Exchange by 2026 to allow Nigerians to own shares, promoting broader market ownership and transparency.
