Dangote Refinery to Become World's Largest with Capacity Expansion to 1.4m bpd

The expansion of Dangote Refinery's capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day was announced by Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola at a press conference in Lagos. The project, set to be completed in three years, will make it the largest refinery globally, surpassing India's Jamnagar Refinery.

The expansion aims to support Nigeria's energy independence and belief in Africa's potential. Dangote also disclosed plans to list the refinery on the Nigerian Stock Exchange by 2026 to allow Nigerians to own a part of the project.

The refinery will require 65,000 workers during the construction process and will also focus on producing Euro V and VI fuel standards to meet global environmental benchmarks.
