Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Price to ₦1,350 per Liter

Dangote Refinery has announced an increase in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (petrol) from ₦1,275 to ₦1,350 per liter. This adjustment follows a previous price hike in April 2026, reflecting ongoing changes in global oil market conditions.

The rise in petrol prices across Nigeria has been consistent, with some filling stations already selling petrol close to ₦1,400 per liter. The steady increase in fuel costs is linked to global crude oil prices and foreign exchange pressures, which continue to challenge supply and affect pricing in the deregulated downstream sector.

This latest price adjustment was confirmed on Wednesday by a senior official at Dangote Refinery. Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, stated during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu and global investors that the government does not impose price controls on petrol, believing instead that the market should regulate itself.
