Dangote Refinery Defended as Victim, Not Bully, in Oil Sector Battle

Security expert Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni defended Dangote Refinery, stating it is unfairly portrayed as a monopolist in the oil sector. Mumuni argued that the refinery is actually a victim facing resistance from entrenched interests in Nigeria's oil sector.

He highlighted how the refinery faced challenges in acquiring local crude and had to partner with MRS Oil to distribute fuel directly. Mumuni criticized NNPC for not fulfilling its commitment to acquire a stake in the refinery.

The statement emphasized that Dangote Refinery is not a bully but a victim of systemic inefficiencies and unfair portrayals.
