Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Price to N1,350 per Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has raised the gantry price of premium motor spirit (petrol) from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre, effective Saturday, September 12, 2026. This adjustment is the fourth increase since August 21, when the price was first raised from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre.

Subsequent increases occurred on August 26 to N1,200, and on August 29 to N1,265. The cumulative increase over 22 days amounts to N185 per litre, representing approximately 15.9 percent.

A circular issued by the Group Commercial Operations of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals informed customers of the revised prices, including a coastal delivery price adjustment from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne. Customers were instructed to return all Authority to Collect documents for repricing, with new volume contracts to be issued for immediate loading resumption.

The price hike is attributed to rising international crude oil prices, with Brent crude recently exceeding $104 a barrel amid supply disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions.
