Dangote Refinery to Supply 65 Million Litres Daily

Dangote Refinery has entered into a significant offtake agreement to supply between 60 to 65 million litres of petrol daily across Nigeria, involving 12 major independent oil distributors. This agreement, disclosed by Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, is expected to stabilize fuel supply and deepen Nigeria's fuel self-sufficiency.

The structure of the offtake agreement guarantees nationwide availability of petrol and allows for the export of surplus volumes, addressing Nigeria's daily petrol consumption, which ranges from 50 to 60 million litres. The arrangement marks a major shift from decades of reliance on imported refined products, with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority endorsing the new distribution framework.

The refinery aims to deliver 1.5 billion litres monthly by December 2025, with plans to increase to 1.7 billion litres by February 2026. This development is anticipated to transform Nigeria's downstream petroleum value chain and enhance energy security.
