Dangote Refinery's Jet Fuel Exports Surge 770% by 2026

Dangote Refinery has experienced a remarkable 770% increase in jet fuel exports over the past two years, with shipments reaching a record 158,000 barrels per day by April 2026. This surge is driven by a significant rise in global demand for aviation fuel and a strategic shift in supply chains, particularly influenced by conflicts in the Middle East.

The refinery's initial export volume was approximately 18,000 barrels per day in April 2024, which has since expanded to around 70,000 barrels per day for European-bound shipments. The data indicates a 283% increase in export volumes from April 2024 to April 2026.

The refinery has positioned itself as a reliable alternative for European airlines, reducing their dependency on suppliers from the Mediterranean and Asia. Additionally, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) reported a five-year peak in crude oil trade at 1.71 million barrels per day, highlighting significant operational milestones in the oil and gas sector.
