Dangote Group Secures $350M Deal to Build World's Largest Refinery in Nigeria

Dangote Group has signed a $350 million engineering contract with India's Engin India Limited to expand its Lekki refinery in Nigeria, making it the world's largest single-site refinery upon completion. The project aims to double the current refining capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day, positioning Nigeria as an emerging regional petroleum hub.

The deal, overseen by Engin India Limited and supported by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, includes upgrading fuel output to Euro VI standards and tripling polypropylene production to strengthen Nigeria's petrochemical value chain. This initiative addresses Nigeria's historical reliance on fuel imports despite being a significant crude oil producer.
