David Mark to INEC: Ensure impartiality in forthcoming August 16 by-elections

Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure impartiality and transparency in the upcoming by-elections scheduled for August 16, 2025. Mark emphasized the importance of restoring public trust in the electoral system and urged INEC to conduct a process that would achieve this goal.

The ADC is fielding candidates in various states across Nigeria, with Mark highlighting the party's commitment to providing Nigerians with an alternative for better governance. He also called on voters to give the ADC a chance to prove its worth.

Mark reminded INEC to correct past errors that have damaged its image and stressed the importance of a credible election to redeem the commission's reputation. He commended ADC candidates for their courage and commitment and urged supporters to obey electoral laws and remain vigilant against manipulation and intimidation.

Additionally, Mark called on security agencies to ensure a level playing field for all contestants and to protect the people without interference.
