Davido's Sister Claims He Transformed Nigerian Music Lifestyle

Sharon Adeleke, sister of Afrobeat star Davido, asserted that her brother played a pivotal role in introducing a luxury and flamboyant lifestyle to the Nigerian music industry. She made this claim during a live radio takeover celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Nigerian music industry.

According to Sharon, Davido's influence led many artists to begin showcasing their wealth and success, making it "cool" in Nigeria. She referenced Davido's time with the now-defunct Mo Hits crew, which included notable figures like Don Jazzy and D'banj, highlighting that Davido has repeatedly acknowledged their inspiration.

Sharon insisted that before Davido, no one in Nigeria had embraced such a lifestyle, and she emphasized that he has been a significant force in changing the perception of success in the music scene. She also noted that Davido spent time in a mansion while defying their father's wishes to pursue a music career.
