Davido Denies Attack on Governor Adeleke's Convoy

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known as Davido, refuted claims that his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, was attacked during a visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji. Davido stated on his verified X handle that the incident involved a fight outside the palace unrelated to the governor or his entourage.

This clarification followed reports of a gun duel between security personnel and unidentified men during the governor's visit after receiving his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The Osun State Police Command provided a different account, indicating that suspected members of the Eye Confraternity attempted to access Davido, leading to a confrontation that escalated into a gun battle.

Tragically, a 60-year-old man, Tajudeen Yusuf, was shot and later pronounced dead at the University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. The police have initiated a full-scale investigation to apprehend the suspects involved.
