Dawule Baba Memorial Tournament Set for June 2026

The Dawule Baba memorial tournament is scheduled to take place from June 11 to June 14, 2026, at the Kaduna Polo Club, celebrating the legacy of Nigerian polo icon Dawule Baba. The tournament will feature teams and players from across Nigeria and beyond, as confirmed by the Kaduna Polo Club management committee.

Brigadier General Kapeh Kazir, the club's first vice president, emphasized the importance of honoring Baba, who is fondly referred to as a teacher in the polo community. The inaugural tournament last year saw the Deebe Polo Team win the Dawule Baba Cup, which has since been renamed the main ground at the Kaduna Polo Club to honor Baba's immense contributions.

The event will also include participation from teams in the upcoming Ibadan Polo Tournament and the Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield. The tournament aims to celebrate Baba's mentorship and influence in the sport, with his children and notable polo figures participating.
