Senator Hanga Warns Governor Yusuf Against Defection, Predicts Defeat

Senator Hanga, in a report by Daily Trust, cautioned Governor Yusuf against defecting from the NNPP due to the likelihood of facing defeat. Hanga highlighted the internal crisis and leadership disputes within the party.

He criticized the governor for ignoring advice and potentially embarking on a "suicidal mission." Hanga expressed deep disappointment and described the governor's actions as a betrayal, noting the support he received from NNPP's national leader, Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso. The senator emphasized the slim chances of winning elections outside the party, stating that even governors would struggle to secure electoral positions in a new political environment.

Hanga warned that defection could ultimately prove costly for the governor.
