Defence Minister Musa Calls for National Unity at Service

Defence Minister Musa called on Nigerians to strengthen national unity during an inter-denominational church service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, part of the 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations. In a statement from Leah Katung-Babatunde, the Minister emphasized the connection between national security and Nigeria's pursuit of peace, cohesion, and shared prosperity.

Musa reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to safeguard the country's sovereignty and restore lasting peace, urging citizens to support military personnel on the frontlines. The service was attended by prominent figures, including President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Service Chiefs, members of the diplomatic community, and senior Christian clergy.

Akpabio offered prayers for the nation, stressing the importance of harmony and collective efforts for sustainable peace. Akume delivered the vote of thanks, highlighting the significance of democratic stability as Nigeria approaches future civic milestones.

The event concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake.
