Defence Minister Musa Calls for Unity During Independence Celebration

Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defence, called for unity and support for Nigeria's security forces as the nation celebrated its 66th Independence Anniversary. In a statement from his Special Assistant (Media), Leah Katung-Babatunde, Musa highlighted that national security is essential for unity, peace, and prosperity.

He made these remarks during an inter-denominational church service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, themed “Anchored on Hope: The Path to Divine Stability and Shared Prosperity.” Musa, who delivered the first Scripture reading, expressed unwavering hope for Nigeria's peaceful future and urged citizens to support the Armed Forces and security agencies. The service was attended by notable figures, including Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, who both emphasized the need for harmony and democratic stability as Nigeria approaches future elections.
