U.S. Military Tech Key to Nigeria's Security Success

General Christopher Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defence of Nigeria, underscored the critical role of U.S. military technology, particularly advanced drone capabilities and satellite intelligence, in enhancing Nigeria's operational success against insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and other security threats. This statement was made during his visit to the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Kayode Are, at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Musa highlighted Nigeria's strategy of diversifying its international defense partnerships while upholding national sovereignty. The discussions aimed to reinforce the longstanding defense alliance between Nigeria and the U.S., focusing on counter-terrorism operations and the modernization of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Ambassador Are praised the security sector reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and committed to facilitating diplomatic channels for military support. General Musa also inspected the Embassy’s Defence Section, commending Air Commodore Valentine Oreaki and his staff for their professionalism.

This visit concluded a series of activities in Washington, D.C., as part of a high-level delegation led by National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
