Dele Momodu to Join ADC in Bid to Challenge Ruling Party in Nigeria

Dele Momodu, a media entrepreneur and former presidential aspirant, is scheduled to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on January 15, 2026. Momodu, known for his close political association with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, is set to defect from his current political affiliations to align with the ADC in a bid to challenge the rule of President Bola Tinubu's Progress Congress in the next election cycle.

The defection ceremony is planned to take place in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, where the newly opened ADC state secretariat will host party leaders, supporters, and political stakeholders. Momodu expressed his readiness to align with the ADC, emphasizing the importance of building a united opposition platform capable of effectively challenging the ruling party in the 2027 elections.

He highlighted the significance of prioritizing national interests, democracy, and ensuring a better future for Nigeria and its citizens through collective efforts across political lines.
