NRC Confirms Senator Edafinon Not on Crashed Train

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) issued a clarification stating that Senator Edafinon, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, and Patrick Ukah, former Secretary to the Delta State Government, were not aboard the Warri-Itakpe train that was involved in a recent accident near Agbor. This statement, signed by NRC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kayode Opeifa, was released to correct earlier misinformation suggesting their presence on the train.

The NRC expressed regret for the error and acknowledged the support provided by various emergency response agencies at the scene. The accident, confirmed by the Federal Government, resulted in four fatalities and 24 injuries among the 442 passengers and 40 crew members on board.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori expressed condolences to the victims' families and assured ongoing support for survivors receiving medical treatment.
