African Airlines Witness 7.3% Growth in Demand for Holidays and Business Travel

In October 2025, African airlines saw a 7.3% increase in demand for holiday and business travel, with a 5.3% rise in capacity and a load factor of 74.1%. International air travel demand rose by 8.5%, while domestic demand increased by 3.4%.

The global passenger demand showed a 6.6% growth, with notable improvements in load factors in various regions. The IATA Director General, Willi Walsh, highlighted the resilience of air travel demand and job growth, despite economic uncertainties in 2026.
