Denmark Sets Academic Criteria for Job-Seeking Permits

Denmark has announced the academic qualifications required for foreign graduates to apply for a job-seeking residence permit, which allows eligible individuals up to three years to secure employment in the country. Applicants must possess a valid residence permit linked to their study program and have a minimum of four months remaining on that permit at the time of application.

The recognized degree levels that qualify include: professional bachelor's degree, bachelor's degree, part-time master's degree, master's degree, and PhD degree. Additionally, the educational program must be approved by relevant authorities.

Graduates whose programs did not receive formal approval but obtained an advisory statement from the Danish Evaluation Institute or the secretariat to the Accreditation Council can still apply, albeit under a different permit valid for six months. This provision is particularly significant for international students who completed programs at institutions not adhering to the standard state-accreditation framework.
