Court Sacks Labour Party Chairman, INEC Directed to Recognize New Leader

The Federal High Court in Abuja has removed Abure as the Labour Party National Chairman, declaring Esther Nenadi Usman as the valid leader. This decision follows a leadership crisis within the party, with a caretaker committee now in place.

Usman's leadership was upheld by the Supreme Court, leading to the court's directive for INEC to recognize her committee. Various party members, including Peter Obi and Alex Otti, have expressed dissatisfaction with Abure's leadership.

Inyang Okoro's judgment supported Usman's position as the rightful leader.
