Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi Discuss 2027 Elections

Peter Obi's recent meeting with Rotimi Amaechi has been clarified by Senator Umeh, who represents Anambra Central. Umeh stated that the meeting was a political consultation and not an attempt to negotiate any withdrawals from the 2027 presidential race.

He dismissed reports suggesting that either aspirant was asked to step down, labeling such claims as inaccurate. Umeh emphasized the necessity of consultations among multiple aspirants to avoid weakening the opposition's chances.

He acknowledged the experience of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the need for older politicians to make space for younger leaders. Umeh also addressed concerns regarding internal crises within the ADC, asserting that faction leaders do not represent presidential aspirations.

He maintained that the ADC remains a viable platform for ongoing political projects and stressed the importance of adhering to the rule of law to ensure Nigeria's democratic survival.
